How Studies are organized : The practice of osteopathic medicine was legislated by Law n°2002-303 of 4 March, 2002 relative to patients’ rights and quality of health care. Administrative decrees 435 and 437 of 25 March 2007 established the osteopathic code of practice and requirements for a French diploma in Osteopathic Medicine, which includes 6 units in basic science and 3 units in osteopathic medicine. The law and decrees fixed the educational criteria at a minimum of 2660 hours, the equivalent of 3 years post high school training The Osteopathic College of Provence is committed to training high level practitioners and maintains a 5000 hour program organized in 5 years (300 ECTS) plus a 6th year of clinical and therapeutic advanced training.
